Fall at Disney

Fall in the Disney parks is MAGICAL. This year my Sissy and I will be heading to the parks to experience all the magic firsthand!

I will be honest, I do not think that before this year, that I was fully aware of everything that Disney Fall offers. I was blown away at how special this SPOOKY time of year is. And you know the best part? VILLAINS. I absolutely love a good Villain. I think the main reason is that while the Princesses are wonderful, we have all had that moment in life where we are faced with something HARD, and can see how easy it would have been the bad guy. We understand how Maleficent hated being villainized and left out. We know what it is like to be the Evil Queen and be jealous of someone else’s beauty. We know exactly why Mother Gothel locked Rapunzel away so that she would not have to share. We understand because we have all been faced with similar dilemmas. Hopefully, you came out of your dilemma without turning into a Villain!

Fall is when the Villains who normally do not wander the park as freely come out to play. During Non-Covid days of yore, this was the time for the epic “Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Bash” and “Oogie Boogie’s Bash”. Unfortunately for 2020, these events have been cancelled for safety, but that did not stop Disney!

This year, all the spooky decorations, treats, and merchandise are still hitting the parks! I have been salivating as I map out some amazing treats like:

· Not So Poison Apple Cupcake at Pinnochio’s Village ~ this is like Moby Dick for my sister. She so desperately hoped that it would still be available during last years November trip. Seriously, a spiced apple cupcake with a pecan crunch buttercream. This poison apple will totally be worth a bite!

· Hades Nachos at Peco’s Bill ~ did somebody say Buffalo Chicken? Why yes, Disney did! This version of the nacho’s meal at Peco’s is only available in the fall season of Disney. Black bean chips served with a “fiery” buffalo chicken, and then all that other grownup toppings other people eat, and Hades gives this meal “two thumbs, way up”!

· Pumpkin Spice EVERYTHING ~ seriously, the amount of pumpkin that has been cooked up into park treats is off the hook. You don’t have to go far to get: pumpkin soft serve, pumpkin waffles, milkshakes, cheesecake cannoli, and even tiramisu. Wow, that is a lot of pumpkin!

· Frozen Apple Cider around Hollywood Studios~ I am not a huge pumpkin fan but will throw down on Apple Cider ANYTHING! They have a non-alcoholic or “spiked” version as well!

· PLUS all of the Epcot Food & Wine Festival treats…but we will do a separate post for that amazing event!

So, the food is obviously amazing, but let us not forget the decorations! Disney covers every light pole, store, and railing with the majestic colors of fall. There are leaves in all our favorite crisp colors, and pumpkins everywhere. But not just any pumpkins, there are special Mickey and Minnie pumpkins all over the parks! I can not wait to pose beside these giant pieces and get the perfect fall photo. Between all of these decorations, it is hard to forget that fall is in the air, even if the Florida weather is trying to feel like summer!

Lastly, let us talk about Halloween Merchandise. The hardest thing about Disney is leaving it. The magic doesn't exist the same way outside of this majestic world. Just the first day at the airport is heart breaking. Your magic band doesn't get you food any more and no one is asking how your day can be more magical.

But, don't fear, you can still take some of the magic with you! That is my reason for getting souvenirs. It is less about the price tag and more about carrying a memory with you. I always stock up on Mickey shaped rice krispy treats and cookies to eat on the following days after my trip. I cuddle up in my Mickey Spirit Tee to help ease the transition back to the real world. Just like a photograph helps us hold onto a memory, these merchandise items can help us remember the fun of our adventures.

So, what is your favorite part of fall?

What do you most want to see at Disney for Fall/Halloween?
